Senior and Reserve's Football - A history to be proud of

Senior and Reserve's football has a long history in the Wynnum - Manly district. Early records depict games being played from 1905. Originally known as the 'Tricolours', Wynnum played wearing the colours of blue, red and white. Premierships were won in 1909 and 1920.

The Wynnum Vikings was officially founded in 1966. Records are unclear as to when the club started playing in the dark blue/light blue colours, but over time yellow managed to sneak into the mix as well. Having played in jerseys with a yellow flare for many years and peaking to a Youth mostly yellow jersey in 2011, the Committee decided in late 2011 to head back to the dark blue/light blue jersey combination.

Off the field, Wynnum is a small but strong family and community orientated club that prides itself on being 'blue-collar'. We  pride our selves in playing the game with toughness and fairness on and off the field, often performing above our small size.. We take care of our own and the wider community, raising donations and promoting Women's Health, Domestic and Family Violence, Parkinson's Disease and mental health.

The Wynnum Vikings are in a rebuilding phase in the Men's Senior and Reserve Competitions with our first year senior coach, Dean Wallingham in 2023. With Dean reappointed for 2024 the Viking Senior and Reserves are looking forward to a climb up the ladder in 2024.
